- zvi_likes_tv: This is a paradigm shift - the idea that a piece of writing is isolated by the boundaries of its page or its volume is completely untrue on the web. And writing a connected, unbounded document requires a different way of organizing your thoughts, an assumption that people aren't going to read what you write in isolation, or straight through, or only while holding a vague idea in their head of what happened that other time you're kinda sorta dancing around. -

But suppose the world is swept with a passion for abiding by bloggers' boycotts and these authors gain a reputation for racism. So what? -

This covers obvious things like comfy furniture & snuggly blankets, but it also includes filling it with reminders that there are other people like me in the world; that there is resistance to the system of white privilege that tells us over & over that we are lesser, not human, not worth anything. -

But the Other will never be Like Us because they are Other and we are Not Other. The language itself limits POC to the realm of Not Like Us -
