seperis: the good old days before google were dark and involved horses - okay, we're going to do a flashback to the year 2000 and go forward, when I discovered google and the world changed. This is where our journey begins. Google took six weeks to update with new material. Six weeks. . . . I'm saying, it's better now. Though granted, horsefucker, we could have lived without him. Anything anyone wants to add? -- jonquil: Unforgivable Favorites - When I was sixteen, I read the Fu Manchu novels over and over again; my best friend and I laughed at them.[...]I knew they were ridiculously stereotyped, of course, but I read anyway. In my twenties I hunted the books down again... and found them utterly unreadable. The long rants about The Yellow Peril weren't funny any more[...]What did you once love that you now realize was ethically unacceptable? And do you, like me, still feel nostalgia for the pleasures of that younger self, now mixed with shame? -
thelana: Female Friendly Shows: assorted thoughs on female relationships and power structures on tvd and lots - This is the show where supposed best friends actually keep each other up to date willingly (I'm looking at you Clark/Pete from Smallville). This is the show where if you want to blackmail a witch you don't abduct her mom, her dad, her beloved grandma, her dog or try to spy out what boy she likes best. No, you go and abduct her BFF. -</li>
