Do some of us in fandom roll our eyes at marriage fic because we believe, with one segment of feminism, that marriage is a trap of the patriarchy that really needs to be jettisoned on our way to bringing in the heaven on earth of true gender equality?

- alchemia: Oh Meta, how I Love/Hate you. - If we find out that Snape's Worst Memory was his Worst because he was *that* close to being outed as having female genitalia, then all that has switched/swapped/changed is our understanding of this particular version of Snape. Snape was, is, and continues to be a man. While Boy!Snape may look odd, it would at least be accurate, where as calling him Girl!Snape confuses sex for gender and disrespectfully ignores his identity. -
