- boomshadow: Mary Sues and Gary Stus in Various Continuities - If you have read science fiction and fantasy for any length of time at all, you have no doubt run into the occasional Mary Sue or Gary Stu: a character created as a vicarious means of wish fulfillment for the author. -
- fluterbev: Meta: Feedback as currency - Feedback is often said to be the only payment a fanfiction writer receives for their craft, and I wonder sometimes if that commonly expressed adage is at the root of some of the misunderstandings which arise between readers and writers in fandom. -
