Oh, I liked this very much -- the awkwardness, the melancholy of it, both of them damaged in different ways by things that happened as the wizarding world headed towards and then experienced the war.
You unfolded it all very nicely, the fears Severus had because Remus wasn't addressing any of the unspoken issues, and the clinging to methods of avoidance Remus couldn't help. Remus's developing reactions to the cross-dressing felt real and communicated so much about their relationship.
