I can definitely see Snape as the sort of self-disciplined character who would try to develop a responsible work routine in the afterlife, and your Remus characterization makes sense to me, too.
A lot of this came from thinking about what sort of mechanisms each would use to cope with the challenges presented in this particular construction of the/an afterlife. I've certainly never written them in a situation similar to this before, so it's good to know that the characterizations seem valid.
