Wonderfully written! I'm a bit amazed at really really well done rentboy fics because it's a really difficult premise to pull off believably and many fail to really pull it off, but here? I am completely convinced this could happen. All the characters are well fleshed out. And first person POV works well. I loved the little things like the details that are what really make it a bit above the rest: the way Scorpius talks :) sometimes mangles a word or two, that he acts his four years old, how Draco absolutely loves his child and it's shown rather than told :) And that he would still sometimes like to 'drown him' and the fact that he's disgusted with his snot doesn't mean he loves him any less :)) Very true to life! I felt as though, yes, he's a parent. Often in fics the parental love is spoken of but not shown in such convincing domestic scenes - I love how it's shown here :) I also really loved some of the descriptions or turns of phrase, like for example: 'decorated in early divorce' says so much in so few words, I can picture it in my head so clearly, the missing pieces of furniture and slightly empty feel of the place as though more than the furniture is missing. I liked all the complicated relationships that Draco has - with his ex wife, his mother, his friends, his work and of course Harry in various stages of relationship and also how they all develop and how they are interconnected and how the story unfolds.
One of my favourite fics of the fest and also one I'm sure I'll reread :) Thank you.
