MIxed Merlin Drabbles
kabal42 - Arthur/Merlin, gift. Harry/Draco, summer night.
I went with the first. PG

Merlin looked especially sheepish, and that made Arthur wary. What had he done now? Spilled something over his favorite boots and ruined them? Forgotten supper? Insulted his father--again?
"Just spit it out already, Merlin, would you? I'd like to be able to relax, and I can't with you looking as though I'm about to have you flogged. I'm not, am I?"
Merlin shook his head, then pulled something from his tunic. "My mother sent a letter, sire..."
Well, if he hadn't been on edge before, that certainly would have done, hearing Merlin call him that. Usually it was 'Arthur,' to rhyme with idiot. "And?"
"She wanted to thank you for what you did for us this year. So...she sent along a care package." He handed Arthur the scroll, and he raised his eyebrow, then looked down at the slightly crooked writing.
Prince Arthur,
I hope this letter finds you well. The people of Ealdor are all incredibly grateful to you for the help you provided in ridding us of the nuisance of Kanen and his men.
We only wish we had something of greater value to offer. But as you currently already have my most treasured possession near you at all times, please accept these pies as some sort of extra recompense for the help you have given us.
Fondly,
Hunith
Arthur looked up. "Pies?" he asked, very interested now.
"Um...well...yes...about that..."
"Tell me you haven't eaten them all?" he asked wearily.
"No...I didn't. But the boys in the back of the wagon of the man who delivered the letter had, I'm afraid. It's a long trip from Ealdor, after all..."
Arthur sighed, then smiled, shaking his head. "I suppose the thought is what truly counts. That and having her 'most treasured possession?'" he said with a wink, grinning wide when Merlin's ears turned red.
"I'll just go collect your supper, shall I sire?"
"Later." Arthur caught his hand. "I have another appetite you should see to first," he added with another wink.

Merlin groaned. He wasn't sure he'd ever be able to move again. While he'd never gone hungry here at the castle, he couldn't recall ever eating quite so much. Especially after so much work. He wasn't sure which would kill him first.
Arthur chuckled at him. "Overdid it, did you?"
If that didn't deserve a glare, nothing did. "I'm sure all that riding must have caused your brain to leak out of your ears..."
"Well, someone had to make sure the grain got to the silo for the winter..."
Merlin humphed, then turned away from him, groaning again at the movement.
"Oh, come on, you big baby. Lie down on the bed and I'll get that massage lotion Gaius gave you for my shoulder. It works miracles, I tell you."
Surprised, Merlin nodded, then hobbled over to the bed and gingerly pulled off his tunic.
Sometimes Arthur could almost be human.
Lilian_cho: Merlin/Arthur, twisted ankle

"Only you could chase away a deer by hurting yourself, Merlin."
"I didn't mean to. I just fell. Honest. I was doing what you told me and being quiet, but then something under my feet...moved."
"Moved. And could you tell me why someone as scrawny as you feels like you weigh twenty stone?"
"I do not! And I didn't tell you to carry me, anyway. Let me down!"
"Stop wiggling or I'll drop you. I'll set you down when we get to my horse. And if you don't stop, I'll make sure to tell Gaius why you fell."
"And what does that mean?"
"Please...you honestly think I don't know when you're watching me, Merlin?"
"..."
"Are you blushing?"
"Maybe."
"You never blush, Merlin. ...It's kind of cute."
"Please don't tell anyone?"
"Word of honour. So long as you promise we'll talk about it once that ankle's all healed up?"
"Really?"
"Really."
"Yeah. I'd like that, too."
