Two characters have to share a room for the night. Every room is occupied, but fortunately there is one last room available.

There's just one problem — there's only one bed, and the characters aren't comfortable sharing it.

Rhys groaned. He didn't want to share a room with Marc. Not since they broke up. "Why are we both here?" Rhys asked, brushing red hair out of his eyes. He fiddled with his cell phone, wondering who was going to speak first. Other than what he'd just said. "I have to check in with Angel's babysitter."

His two year old always took precedence. Although he did still love Marc. Very much.

"Because there were no more rooms and sleeping outside isn't fun. We're not kids who're into camping." Or, at least, Marc certainly wasn't. He despises the idea of sleeping outside. Just because they had animal attributes about them didn't mean they needed to act like animals all the time.

"And, by the way, I wasn't driving another five hours back home." They had been on a sort of fetch quest for Theo, who needed some special plant for...something. He'd forgotten what the kid needed it for. Just knew it was important and was leafy and yellow-green with berries that hung off of it. To be honest, he didn't even really know why Rhys volunteered to come with. No one else did. Marc just got stuck going because he said he'd get Theo whatever he needed for his magic thing he was going. "Neither were you."

	"Bloody hell no I wasn't. That's a recipe for disaster." Rhys could barely drive. He didn't want to, either. "We only have one bed, Marc." He said, busy calling up his daughter's babysitter's number. After he'd made sure she was fine, he said, "I'm showering. Washing this day off." Why hadn't Theo gone to get the plant himself? 	"And? Not like we haven't slept together before." It wasn't a big deal to him. Not now, anyways. If this situation was happening at Marc's house he'd get all weird about sharing his own bed. "Don't tempt me." Rhys replied, his tone annoyed. He took his shower, coming back out, towel wrapped around his waist. He grabbed something to wear out of his bag and pulled it on, not caring that he was naked in front of Marc. They had slept together before.

" I'm ordering food." He told him, pulling up a Chinese food menu on his phone. "Chinese food. Do you want any?"

	Marc was terrible. He was having fun with the situation, judging by the smirk he wore. But he left Rhys to do his own thing and shower alone while he made himself comfortable in the bed and read a book that he found in his car. "Hm? Nah," he said without looking up. 	"Fine. Go hungry." Rhys replied, sitting on the chair by the table in the corner. No sense in joining Marc until he had to. Rhys ordered up some food, and then looked at Marc. "Stop enjoying this. He only looked up when he heard annoying. "What's so annoying about peace and quiet?" Not that it was perfectly quiet since Rhys was chattier than he was currently, but still better than normal. Half the time, Marc's home was filled up with pack members or they were cycling in and out.

"I can't remember the last time I got through a book in a three days or less."

"You know what I mean, you bloody little shit." Rhys replied, rolling his eyes. Harder than he needed to. "You are getting way too much pleasure out of this." Rhys texted Angel's babysitter again, unable to help himself.

Why had he agreed to come? He wasn't often away from her. Plus, it was Marc. But he knew that was why. He couldn't keep away from the other. Even though he should.

	Marc sighed. He wasn't good with these sorts of things. What was he supposed to say to that, other than the obvious which then makes him sound like the biggest asshole in the world? Reminding him she was likely okay wasn't a thing Marc as going to do. He sometimes got a hover around those closest to him in the pack when something was up, so he understood.

"It's not that it doesn't matter. And I don't think I probably ever have been in love. It's not saying never but just now I...like my options. I don't want to be tied to one person forever. I'll have lots of time to do that when I'm old."

"I know that, about you. That you don't want to be with me. I wish you did. But I can't stop loving you and I wish that I could. Because I know that nothing more is going to happen with us. That's why I am kind of pissy all the time." Rhys replied, sighing again. That's when his food arrived, and he got up to pay for it.

Coming back with it, he cracked his Coke open and then got into his Kung pao chicken. "I want to get over you. You have no idea."

"The self depreciation is incredibly hot, by the way." Rhys told him, ignoring his joke. There was no point in answering it. Rhys looked at him, chewing on some rice. "You being unavailable is definitely hard to deal with. But I also don't get why you're playing the field. Not when I am willing to be with you. You aren't even willing to try. Do you know how frustrating that is?"

Then he was quiet as he ate, ravenous. Rhys didn't get why Marc was the way he was. "You know I consider Greg my alpha, right?"

"Because I want to?" He couldn't think of a better reasoning. "I just don't want to settle. One person is just..." Marc pulled a face before saying, "It doesn't sit with me."

The words weren't ones he expected. Actually, Marc wasn't sure the logistics of it or how to even approach it. Technically, his father wasn't there to be an Alpha. And Marc had been the one to gain the Power when he died. He frowned, thinking quietly. "Why? You barely knew him." Another beat. "I don't even think you ever met him."

"You really couldn't get us a bigger room?" Bart asked, making a face. He also had to check on Mags. He doted on her. Lisa he wasn't close to, and probably never would be. Bart ran a hand through his blonde hair and wondered why he was here with Adam. The other's dad scared him.

Bart set his bag down. "I have to call my baby sister. Make sure she's okay." Bart told him, fiddling with the hem of his tee shirt.

"This is what they had! We're probably lucky we aren't sleeping in the back of dad's truck." Adam huffed. He'd tried. He really had but the entire place was booked up.

"Sure. Go ahead. Take care of whatever you need to take care of, man. I'll figure out the sleeping arrangements." Maybe they could make a barrier of pillows? Maybe the impromptu roadtrip was a bad idea.

"He's super into it." He was completely straight faced about the entire thing... even if it seemed like Bart was catching on to the fact that something was up. Adam was just going to try and avoid the topic as much as possible. "I mean... you don't have to keep your hands to yourself." He laughed before returning the soft kiss. "Sure. Whatever you want. I'll probably do the same."

Definitely, totally fine. What could go wrong?

"You're just making me even more scared." Bart called back, as he stripped and got in the shower. He took a quick one, and came out in a pair of boxer briefs. "You hungry? Should we order food?" He asked, pulling on a tee shirt as well.

Keeping his hands to himself was a good idea. Not that he wanted to. Adam was his boyfriend after all. He leaned to kiss him again. "Just don't tell John about anything."

Okay. Maybe there was no helping it and his boyfriend was now afraid to ever touch him because his dad came off as a crazy person. He could fix that. Probably. Adam sighed as he moved to pull a change of clothes out of his own bag.

He looked up as Bart walked back into the room and smiled. "We could. If you wanted." He did have money to afford things like expenses during this road trip. He returned the kiss and lifted a curious eyebrow. "Is there going to be something I shouldn't tell him?" He teased before moving towards the bathroom so he could wash up.

"You keep teasing and there won't be." Bart called back. He added, "I'm ordering some pizza." He pulled up a menu on his phone, and picked out one with everything and a meat lovers. Bart then crawled on the bed, deciding it was okay. He was still terrified of John, but what he didn't know didn't hurt him.

He waited patiently on the bed, flipping on the tv, settling on an old sitcom.

Adam laughed as he closed the bathroom door. He stripped out of his clothes and jumped into the shower but wasn't in too much of a rush. They had all night and whatever they wound up doing would have to wait until after the pizza.

He pulled on a pair of shorts and a worn old band tee before stepping back out into the room. "So what kind of pizza did you get?" He asked as he hopped on the bed to sit next to Bart.
