special trip: enjoy the beaches of Florida or the twin-sun skies of Tatooine.
not the settling sort: how did you, of all people, settle down? nevermind, you might as well just reap the benefits.
new place: you two just can't keep your hands to yourselves. or your bodies off every piece of furniture you have.
night off: one of you is always busy, so time together is rare.
long distance: a more extreme version of the above. you two are married but don't live together, as one of you is always on the road...or on the run.
still so in love: no matter how long you've been together, the spark's still there.
hatesex: there's no spark here, as it's more like a raging inferno of resentment towards your insignificant other.
rekindle the spark: in continuation of spark talk, you guys are trying to recapture what you once had.
make-up sex: the best thing about marital spats? making up again!

Just because his first marriage went to pot doesn't mean this one will. He's firmly rooted that they have a common understanding of one another and the roles they play. He doesn't have to feel bad for being caught up with work or a case and he's never too concerned when she has to go off grid for a little while for some sort of heroism or other thing. It just works.

But, for the first time in a while, they both are in the same place and same time. It's not just a crossing of paths. Alex was also basically forced on vacation because someone said he looked like he was getting burnt out and needed to rest.

He's got dinner all made and his phone is stashed away. There's a candle lit on the table and he's setting down a hot pan as he calls, "Dinner's ready."

Yelena took holidays for herself, she normally went to visit her sister, and than went home to rest. She happen to find love in the mist of all the madness that was her world and he got her, it was rare that someone did, but Alex did. By happenstance they were both home and just more than a day or so.

She had been in the backyard with Fanny working on training with her, but came in shortly to clean up for dinner and freshen up some. When he called out that dinner was ready, Yelena walked in, pushing her hair over her shoulder as she looked over the meal, noting the candle and smiled at the gesture. "Looks great," she commented as she reached her phone out of her pocket, flip a switch to silence it and tossed it on the counter. This was time for just them and Yelena actually quite liked that idea.

He glanced up and smiles warmly at her, taking the lid from the pan. It's nothing wildly difficult, just a simple steak and potatoes with some vegetables. "Thanks," he says. "I think the worst part was the shopping. Been a while since I bought real groceries." Which isn't great to admit, but he does as he sits down.

"So, see anything fun recently while you've been...?" Alex waves his hand. He knows that she understands he means out and on the road. He's always careful in his wording.

	Yelena nodded her head as she sat down, "It is jarring to come back to a life once you've been gone for awhile," she offered a smile as she slid into a chair, "Nothing to report, it was an in and out job," they didn't go into details since different units, unless allowed to. 	Yelena just nodded her head to his remarks, she knew how it was to chase nothing and to chase important nothings," When he mentioned Maddie, she smiled and than chuckled "You two didn't make an mess with the explosion did you?"
