The rest of Gale's companions were attractive and impressive. Edgin could admit that. Tav was the sort of hero a bard would want to attach themselves to for the songs and stories that could come of their heroics (but Alfira had dibs and Ed wasn't going to try and steal that from her). The others were all attractive and had traits about them that would, naturally, draw one in. He could understand why most people would look past the wizard. Edgin, however, had found himself watching when no one else was. He'd seen the genuine care the wizard showed for those around him. The kindness and the love the other displayed for talking, for sharing knowledge and teaching anyone who would listen. It was hard not to be attracted to those traits.
He smiled a little at the permission and moved to lean in only to have the other surprise him and initiate the kiss. It was wonderful. Exactly what he had hoped it would be. Ed hadn't realized how lonely he felt until that moment. Ever since leaving home with Jaheira and entering these cursed lands there had been little room for joy or good things. This connection, even if fleeting, was a reminder that there was still good in the world. Who knew? Maybe they would live through this and the two of them would meet again one day.
"Even if you did I wouldn't have minded." He was a bard and bards had a reputation. Edgin wasn't the best example but he was used to that line of thinking in other people. "I'd be happy to sing for you though."
