The original plan had been a rousing performance after the meal, something to keep those spirits high and to keep feeding off the good vibes that came with the sort of tear-filled reunions they were witnessing. That plan hadn't gone as... planned. Midway through dinner Edgin's talents were needed elsewhere and he disappeared upstairs to check on a few things and make sure Isobel had both remembered to eat and wasn't pushing herself too hard. A plate of food and a song of rest to both help with whatever exhaustion she might feel and to bolster her own spirits, and he retreated to his own room. Just to the right.
He was tuning his lute when the knock came. Just strumming a few chords and making sure everything sounded as it should. There was no telling when they might be forced into battle again and a bard was only as good as his instrument. Setting it aside, he moved to open the door and smiled when he found the wizard outside. "Come in..." He said, voice soft so as not to draw attention from anyone who might be passing by.
"I was hoping you'd accept my invitation." He reached out and took a hold of Gale's hand, leading him back towards the bed. He didn't make a move just yet in spite of where they were standing. There was the possibility that all the other wanted was a song and conversation but, well, nothing ventured nothing gained. He had been brave enough to extend the invitation to his room. He could be brave enough to go a little further. He moved in closer but stopped before he could get close enough to let their lips so much as brush. "Can I kiss you?"
