It was especially nice to see Alfira smiling again. When the tiefling bard had stepped foot into the Inn Ed had been excited to find another bard among their numbers. He'd been interested in trading stories, exchanging songs, playing together to rally the others... Alfira had been in no mood for any of that. She had lost too much to even consider playing. Now, however, she seemed happier. She was smiling more. Tav and their group of adventurers were the cause of that.
"We lost a few out there ourselves." Edgin admitted, looking towards the door. "We knew the shadows were going to be a problem but what else could we do?" Ketheric Thorm had to be stopped once and for all. The Cult of the Absolute had to be ended and it felt like there was no one else in all of Faerun who could do it... at least until now. Until Tav and this group of adventurers. Maybe they would have a chance now. Maybe they weren't just sending their scouts out to die.
Edgin smiled brightly as the conversation moved on to something a little more pleasant. "I am." He said, showing off a little by playing a few chords. "Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to perform for pleasure." But he'd done more than his fair share of performing in combat. Playing to raise morale, to inspire. "That could change though. Things feel lighter than they have in a long time, thanks to all of you. I might get a chance to perform a little before the next battle."
