He was sure that Jaskier remembered what happened last time he gave an opinion on the singing. The whole djinn sort of solidified the no singing rule in Geralt's book. No need to cause a stir again.

So he changed the subject. A swift avoidance from the Witcher in hopes to delay or stop a possible argument.

"Wouldn't you rather tell me about your days before joining me? I'm sure something faired importance."

Of course he remembered, but he had assumed, wrongfully, that Geralt was passed that much like he was. Still!If the other wanted to talk, which in itself was a feat given how mad the Witcher got when he tried to converse at all, he was more then happy to ramble on!

"Oh! There were loads of things I did. I traveled a lot, all villages and towns are quite different when you wander. Before that was Oxenford college. Lets see." Thinking a moment, as he rambled a bit about his wanderings eagerly.

Geralt did the unexpected - he actually listened. Quietly, spare a few 'hmm's when it felt appropriate to what Jaskier was saying or he needed to put something small into the conversation opinion-wise.

"I've not visited Oxenfort yet. I'd like to. Their alchemy is spoken of widely." And he figured it would help if he could learn a thing or two from them. Geralt was sure he didn't know it all.

Oh but it felt weird, having the witcher not tell him to shush for once. Though he was greatly enjoying having his attention without the 'scary face' mood behind it.

"Oh you would love it there!" He'd just settled on music having lacked magical talent and the patience to sit still for long to learn alchemy or other, more useful, skills. Besides, how else would he meet people?
