	He jumps as Ben speaks, a noise closer to a startled "yip" leaving his mouth as he turns towards the other. "Don't sneak up on me like that..." He breathes before panic sets in once again. 	He smirks, because of course he does. It's nice to know he could get the jump on someone like Jacob. It's a skill that would be good in the field. If he even could find cases, that is. "Would it be? The smirk earns a slight narrowing of the eyes from Jacob but he can't say anything. Ben actually did manage to get the jump on him. Good for the young hunter, bad for the young monster.

"I've been there for more than a few of them." He says with a shake of his head. That's another thing that would probably make it weird. Ben definitely has a type and Jacob's pretty sure he's not it. "I guess those feelings pop up in any friend group. Seems like it would make things, at least, momentarily awkward."

There's an agreeing nod that has Ben's expression twist into a brief grimace. "I don't know if we'd call it awkward when Jesse was into Krissy and he was getting real territorial for a second." He pauses, thinking. "Or when she was into him and I had to think all those thoughts about him."

Ben stares, trying to forget that he has to remember those things. He blinks himself out of it to add quickly, "Good news is I'm a catch so ogle away, I guess." Because this is Ben. He's said on too many occasions that having a girlfriend is a pain in the ass and he assumes a boyfriend would be too - if he wanted one.

"Still glad it wasn't me." He teased, flashing Ben a smile that quickly became a little mischievous. "How are you so sure those were her thoughts? I thought you were into Jesse." He said before making sure he was just out of reach for any playful hit that might follow.

He rolls his eyes and shakes his head at those words. Honestly, maybe he should've expected that instead of getting embarrassed. Ben is... Ben about the entire thing and he probably won't dwell on it for too long. Jacob doesn't know if he prefers this or to be shot down outright but, at least, it saves them from any awkwardness that would come with any other conversation.

"I retract my former statement. Not Ben."

He narrows his gaze and mumbling, "I bet." Sometimes it felt like there was still a tickle of her thoughts left behind. That or he was just imagining it out of paranoia. "And no, definitely not. Just because he can make things happen and whatever that mojo is, doesn't make him a catch."

To which it was a perfect time to shift the conversation since Jacob's comment has his mouth falling open. "What? Why not Ben? I'm the catch, alright? I'd make an awesome boyfriend. If I wanted to be."

There's laughter before Jacob is, childishly, sticking his tongue out at the other, hearing good enough to make out the mumbled response. He had never pretended to be any more mature than anyone else within the group.

He turned his attention back to the other and shrugged. "I changed my mind. Not Ben. Someone else." He said as if it were just that easy. "And we'll never know if you'd make an awesome boyfriend. You were never interested in being one."

	"You seem to like this profession though." He pointed out. He really doubted Ben would be happy living a normal life no matter how his social or romantic life might suffer. If Jacob knew what was holding Ben back from developing relationships, he might recommend dating a fellow hunter or something harder to kill. Dean had an angel, after all. "Jury's still out on that."
