"For you maybe. He never seems to get tired of it." He frowned, unable to really see the humor in the predicament. Sure the other could try, but there were just some things you couldn't make light of. "At least not yet....and I'd hate to see whatever alternative he'd come up with. I think the man's better off without a sense of humor or creativity for our sake."
He didn't return the smile, knowing it was simply for show. None of them truly smiled anymore, it was nothing more than a waste of energy really. He couldn't help but give the other a concerned glance when he brushed off the matter of infection, shaking his head with a soft sigh. "You may say that now, but I don't think being sick will really work in your favor.", he frowned. Sure there was a chance the other would recover, but no doubt their Master wouldn't be lenient at all just because the other was bedridden. That would be too kind of him. And their master was anything but a kind man. "I'll check later and see if I can find a salve or two they don't miss."
He flinched a little at the soft hiss, biting back an apology as he forced himself to work through the other's pain. The longer he hesitated, the worse off he'd be. He sighed softly as he dipped the cloth again, brushing it lightly over the wounds. "You know I always do.", he chuckled softly as he finished up, grabbing the bandages gently. The sound was hollow, but the statement at least was sincere. "I think you can manage. I'm almost done anyways."
