RP: Remus and Harry Who: Remus Lupin and Harry Potter Where: Streets of Hogsmeade When: Friday, 25 October, 2005 -- afternoon Summary: Remus is still trying to put together what's happened and runs into Harry, whom he's been avoiding for days.
After a week, Remus didn't think the world was ever going to make sense again.
He'd gone to his father's the morning after the full moon -- a second full moon for the month! -- because he had nowhere else to go. But, his father hadn't been there. Another family was living there and Remus didn't have time to go looking for Lyall Lupin before exhaustion was going to win over willpower. Instead, he used the last of his energy to apparate to the Welsh woods and found a cave to crawl into.
It was Monday before he finally awoke with enough mental capacity to start considering his situation.
Somehow, he'd suddenly found himself in Scotland, near Hogwarts, with a full moon in the sky just four days after the full moon he'd spent in Germany. The kids who'd found him had seemed to know him, claimed to be children of people he knew not to have children of that age. His father no longer lived where he had lived ever since Remus' mother had been killed. If it was a trap of some sort, he couldn't figure out what or why. If it wasn't...he didn't know what else it could be.
So, he'd come out his hiding place and gone looking for information. He started in the muggle world. It was easier to move around and use his magic to get necessities -- like new clothes -- without notice. It was there he'd learned about the date. All the newspapers and calendars he saw gave the year as 2005, which had to be impossible.
But, then again, whenever magic was involved, impossible didn't seem so difficult anymore.
That would explain a few things. And it would be really difficult to fake something like that in the muggle world...not that most wizards would even think to.
So, he went back into the wizarding world. He'd perfected being able to slip about unnoticed years ago. But, every once in a while, someone would stop and stare as if they recognized him. It always sent Remus fleeing back to the woods. Still, over the last couple days, he'd managed to put together some sort of history of what had happened in the last sixteen years. It made the owl he'd received while he was still sleeping the full off more understandable.
James son.
Remus wasn't sure he was ready to deal with that just yet.
Instead, he went back to Hogsmeade. Rosmerta still ran the Broomsticks and might be willing to let him do some odd jobs around the place in exchange for a room. He was standing across the road, debating if this was the right choice, when he saw what he could only think of as a ghost.
The spitting image of James Potter was coming along the road and Remus found he was incapable of not staring.
