I had saved this story for a moment when I'd be able to savour it at leisure, and I hoped - I had prepared for reading at a stately pace and leaving judicious comments after each chapter. Net result, I swallowed the four chapters in one hungry sitting, and now - sorry! - I can't wait for Hermione's pov.
I love this take on Ron the reticent Auror and his down-to-earth, instinctive aversion to the mlc - no wounded pride or integrity here, but a deep love of life and the need for warmth, sensual and familial.
I was completely fascinated by the Trelawney chapter. It had so many layers of pain (the most poignant to me is when she wishes someone would know she's cold and draw a bath for her) mixed with the call of magic - her gift and those otherworldly voices. ~shivers~
Albus is awfully lucky that Molly takes him on the redemption trip - though it may be a bumpy road for him ~is hopeful~. His slow wasting in that empty station was perfectly described and the perfect punishment for him - unable to reach, powerless, almost invisible even to himself.
The one who holds on the best under the punishment seems to be Severus - but then he has quite a training. And he has his children. Poor, poor Trelawney.
"Serendipity" looks like a perfectly ironic title at this point of the story; but in a deeper sense maybe all of them got indeed what they needed to make them aware of their true desires and willing to take their lives (or deaths) in their hands.
