He didn’t understand really what she was talking about, it wasn’t addressing what he was trying to find answers too, it seemed to be a conversation that was going around and around in circles. She had no duties, that she had to attend too. Not yet they were both far too new to such to take them on fully anyway, and even if they were not, she was Queen, not some diplomat that needed to attend to various things and have no rest from them. Again he pondered just what his Elders had been up too, and was all the more happy he had asked Wedia to become one of his own appointed elders now, for he was sure that it must be they that were piling all these ‘duties’ upon his wife.
“Lothiriel, why do you keep talking as if you are failing anyone? I love you, the people I have met love you, that is surely all that matters? You have been queen merely weeks, not even a month yet. Such things will come in time if it is duties you wish to attend too, you are Queen. You do what it is you believe in your heart you need to do, that is all. For your heart is what will rule in the end, and I have always believed it was more than large enough to fit all within its safe boundaries.”
He wondered truly if she were even hearing the words he said to her, for her actions truly said she was not. She did not seem like the vivacious strong woman he knew and loved at the moment, but a confused girl who didn’t seem to remember just how much others loved her. Eomer decided that it was time for her to sleep, maybe she was merely too tired to think straight and so she kept talking of matters that seemed to make no sense, he knew he himself had need of rest. So he got to his feet and walked to where she sat on the cot. Squatting himself down and reaching out cupping her face gently in one of his large hands, “so now you have given aid to the little ones, you need to rest and sleep. Come lay yourself down there and I shall make sure someone brings you in a herbal tea that will make you relax.” His soft blue eyes looking into hers for a good few minutes, before they dropped and he pulled himself to his feet once more.
