Since it was a special election, it could happen any week (although why they'd have it at the end of Nov instead of the beginning with ALL OF THE OTHER NORMAL ELECTIONS makes no sense unlike elections in January or whatnot but that was the least of the clusterfucks of this episode) but all elections in the US are held on Tuesdays, regardless of the week/month. So Sue seeing the paper should technically be on a Wed.
So while in Real World the election would be on a Tuesday, even for special elections (cause... it wasn't a run-off, heh) it's one of those things that for the sake of gameplay is probably best ignored.
The entire election storyline has given me hives all season, oy.
