Josh straightened up from pulling his shoes on to reach for his phone. "Hey, Megan," he said, checking the screen to see who was calling.
"Hi, Josh! What's up?" Megan sounded excited about something.
"Not much," Josh answered, getting up to grab his ipod. "I'm just getting ready to go for a run. What you up to; done with cheerleading already?"
"Um, not exactly. I'm actually kind of lost. I'm standing outside this building that has Sprague on it, or something."
Josh went stock still. "What? You're where? Sprague, like Sprague? You're here?" Suddenly Josh was grinning. "Stay there, okay? Don't move. I'll be right there."
He had been intending to go on a run and run he did, racing out of Keaton and across campus. Megan was easy to spot, her familiar blonde hair standing out even as dusk began to fall. "Megan!" he wrapped his arms around his sister, squeezing her up into a big hug. "God, I can't believe you're here. What are you doing? Why didn't you say anything? Hey, where's Mom?" Josh didn't expect his father to decide to put everything behind him and come out but his mother should be around at least.
"Yeah, Mom's not here," Megan said casually. "But oh my gosh, Josh, you got a tattoo! Look at your tattoo!" She reached out for Josh's arm, examining the artwork. "That is so cool. Dad's going to lose it when he founds out. Hey, you think I can get one too?"
"No," Josh answered, trying to keep up with Megan's eager babble. "What do you mean, Mom's not here? She actually let you fly across the country by yourself without calling me first?"
"No..." Megan tossed her head. "They didn't want me to come see you. So, I just bought a ticket and came. I took the train from Boston and everything!"
"Oh man." He loved his sister but she was crazy sometimes. Oh well. She was here and he was glad to see her. "I'm not the only one Dad is going to kill." Josh grinned and threw his arm around her shoulder. "Okay, call home and let Mom know you're not dead or anything and then we'll go get something to eat. You're hungry right? Man, I'm glad you're here."
