It all happened like this: One day, Felix was standing about Wal Mart looking awfully lost. He had a wallet full of wal-mart cards, cash, and dire need for several things but a desire for something new to play with. Something to take his mind off of the fact that the portion of money he had saved up for his surgery was now his to devote to college instead of fixing his lack of hearing.
Buying new socks wasn't going to help him feel better.
Buying five buckets of children's sidewalk chalk, however, was going to be perfect.
Eventually he got around to organizing something with others in regards to the chalk's use. A few e-mails were sent out, ideas were taken, and it was soon settled. At least he and Livvy would meet up outside of Harper Cove for ice cream and art. It was going to be amazing therapy and Felix hoped others would want to join in. A chance to meet new people was always something he longed for.
He set up on a path that wasn't too busy, just to the left of the main steps leading up to Harper Cove, and set out the five buckets all opened and ready for use. Felix settled cross legged with a red piece of chalk and began sketching wildly as he waited for others to show.
