Who: June and Miss McAllister What: June is trying to figure out her options for a required private voice lesson class next fall. Where: The Vaudeville Center, specifically the open and empty music hall in an open practice room. When: This evening, August 5, 2009. Status: Complete
A half hour of required practice was hard to quit when she'd been doing it for years now. It had been one of those unsaid requirements throughout high school, a requirement at her community college for serious music majors, and here it went without saying that it was necessary for enough hours to be clocked for the actual bachelor program.
A break was a nice idea but June couldn't bring herself to stop dead with all the progress she had made, small as it may have been. So, it was a Wednesday night that was spent going over and over the same set of songs until she felt parched and winded. There was no going out with others (who did she know, anyway?) and she was fine with that.
Sort of. The desire to go out, to socialize, was weighed down by an unspoken fear of rejection. Matt was nice enough, but so far, other than Chloe, he was the only person to have been nice to her and a not a complete ass, and he was gone. The safe thing to do then was to focus on what was safe and for her?
