Knox didn't always turn to classical music. Modern music was always his first love and his tastes ran all over the map. Rock, jazz, he'd even gone through a metal phase earlier this semester. Classical was appreciated but it wasn't like he could bang out Beethoven's Fifth on his drum kit. Playing piano opened up a lot more options.
It had been awhile since he'd focused on anything besides his drums - classes and RA duties had a tendency to eat up a lot of his spare time. But he had time now, sitting down to a practice room piano. Never one to do things by halves, Knox jumped right into a more difficult Rachmaninoff piece. The beginning was full of big chords and fun to play but about a minute and a half in, the music became quicker and more delicate. His rustiness showed through and he hit a series of wrong notes.
