It wasn't that Josh didn't know where they were going. Boston had some pretty distinctive landmarks: the Citgo sign was a big one. Kind of neon, as it were. Zoey had taken his phone after the two of them dropped a very moody Megan off at Logan Airport. She needed the GPS, she said, but she wouldn't tell him where they were going. Josh followed her directions and now they were standing outside Fenway Park, the famous green walls of the stadium just in front of them. It wasn't that Josh hadn't figured out where they were going, it was that he had yet to know why Zoey had brought them here.
"Z, what are we doing?"
Zoey let a large smile appear on her face as she swayed in front of Josh, "Can't you guess!" she said happily pulling the tickets out of her back pocket but not revealing them to Josh yet. Even though Zoey disliked baseball she knew how much it meant to him, and today she wanted to have a great time after everything had happened.
"No..." Whatever she had brought them down here for wasn't nearly as clear to him as Zoey seemed to think it was. "Aren't the Red Sox away?" As someone who claimed not to like baseball anymore, he probably shouldn't know a team's schedule - but he did occasionally watch Red Sox games. Occasionally. If they happened to be on.
Zoey rolled her eyes, "Right... sooo..." she pulled out the tickets she bought online and gave one to Josh, biting her lip, she hoped it would at least cheer him up after what happened with Megan.
"A stadium tour?" The part of Josh that was still bitter towards his father about baseball tried to rear its head, but not even that old wound was strong enough to overcome a sudden rush of enthusiasm. He grinned. "Dude, Z! Hey, do you think they'll let me sit on the Green Monster?"
Zoey let out a laugh as they made their way to enter, she knew that it would cheer him up, "Let's hope so!" she said as he hung her arm around his shoulder, "Am I not amazing?" she said gloating just a bit.
"You are a goddess," he assured her as they walked up the ramp, into the park. Really, who else would have come up with this for him?
Zoey's cheeks turned a slight shade of pink as he called her a goddess, for some reason it meant more to her now than it ever did before. She just laughed simply as they entered the park.

After the tour was over Zoey stretched as the bright sun hit her face, she pulled down her sunglasses from on top of her head. "I'm glad that my money paid off," she said with a smile, "I even enjoyed that tour, and you know how I feel about baseball." Zoey was being more friendly than usual. "Are you hungry?" she asked Josh who had a smile upon his face, she was so happy that she decided to buy the tickets, he really loved it.
"You know how I feel about baseball." Still, though, the tour had been amazing - they did take the group onto the Green Monster. Josh checked his watch. "Yeah, starved. We still have a little bit of time to hang out before we should head back to school."
"Right," she said happily as they walked further, "What do you feel like, I could go for anything really." Zoey figured she'd let Josh choose whatever he wanted she normally wasn't picky in the first place.
"You want to get a hot dog?" There was a stand just ahead. "Make it a theme."
"Sounds good to me!" Zoey laughed humming the take me out the ball game song as she placed her order, the foot long placed in her hand, she loaded it up with everything she could think of.
Josh concentrated on his hot dog; ketchup, mustard and onion, just like he liked. It was easy to get lost of the simple pleasures of today. Sure, Megan wasn't speaking to him but he'd gotten to drive a little, been inside an amazing ball park and had a hot dog on a nice day in Boston. Today, things were okay. "Thanks, Z, for today."
"No problem," Zoey said sitting on the bench, "Anything for you!" she smiled, Zoey knew that Josh needed this, especially after his fiasco with Megan and Eric. She bit into her food, and the flavours filled her mouth, "Wow, now this is a hotdog."
