Daphne was perfectly content to be patient with Pansy. Pansy had her moods and it was better to let the other girl get what she wanted out of her system. Daphne preferred to just stay calm and collected and be as pleasant as she could about things. When it didn't confuse people, it was a wonderfully satisfying way to aggravate people in a way that couldn't get one in trouble. In the case of Pansy, Daphne was simply this way because she didn't like fighting with her friends, and she didn't take Pansy's attitude personally.
"The family businesses are short-staffed, so mum and dad are working and they've brought me in as well until we can hire new people. I've got a list of errands I'm expected to do between studying."
Daphne had always been expected to know the family businesses, be it Greengrass Greenhouses, the chain entitled One Stop Potion Shop, or even the flower shop that catered to muggles, Bulbs and Blossoms. This was the first time she'd had to put in as much time working at each one. Cuthbert Greengrass had high standards, and wouldn't entrust certain tasks to anyone but his most senior employees or his immediate family.
