Perseus was generally a well-behaved dog. He was big but gentle and had taken to life at Hogwarts pretty well, showing a calm curiosity when it came to the students and otherwise going about his business like he always had. Caradoc's arrival had changed things, though. While Perseus had always been Hestia's companion, being the only love in her life she had left, her husband had laid claim on him, seeming to prefer the dog's company over hers. She allowed this, sensing that Perseus was needed for him to get through some of the jumbled mess that was his mental state at the moment, but that didn't mean she always liked it. Although Caradoc had reluctantly given in when it came to Laura coming to collect Perseus, she had been by noticeably less often in the past few weeks, which was why Hestia had taken the opportunity today to take him on a walk herself after classes. A walk which had turned out not nearly as calming as she had hoped. After being stuck inside for so long, Perseus was all too excited to be out and about and wasted no time in getting away from her in a quick jog. In a usual situation Hestia did not need a leach to control him so she had not brought one today either, but when she called out a stern "Perseus. Heel." he did not come back to her, instead crossing the grass towards the lake where he disappeared between a grouping of trees. "Perseus!" she called out again, louder this time. Quickening her pace she walked into the direction he had disappeared from, shaking her head when she spotted him standing next to a student who had settled down on the grass and was wagging his tail madly at the boy. |
