The last time Katie had been to Angelina's and Alicia's was when Alicia was still alive. It felt really weird as she started to make her way towards the flat. Katie had been trying to keep herself together with everything that had been happening, the aftermath as it was, but it just wasn't going all that well. It was so hard to keep herself together. She'd be lying if she told someone she didn't cry herself to sleep almost every single night. She felt like such a baby because of it. So instead of letting anyone know that, she found more shifts at her father's string of pubs, working a lot harder than she had before, trying to forget things that she knew she'd never forgot, trying to feel less… Feeling less was a really dangerous thing, and while Katie was well aware of that, she still wanted to feel less.
Katie was just planning on working, but her father told her she had to stop working so hard and go see some of her mates, seeing her mates outside of just seeing them at funerals was a little bit scary for her. Katie wasn't sure how she'd react, or how they'd react or how any of them were really going to move past it. Katie didn't know what she could say to make anyone feel better… How could she make someone feel better if she couldn't even manage to make herself a little bit better? It felt like a losing battle.
Taking one long breath Katie headed up to the front door of her friends flat. Katie could picture a smiling Alicia opening the door and ushering her in quickly, the thought broke Katie's heart. She knew it was probably harder on Angelina, but that didn't mean it didn't break Katie's heart as well. It was so hard to think about never seeing her or Fred again. It was nearly impossible to move forward in some ways. With a bottle of scotch in her bag she lifted up her hand knocking on the front door. Katie sighed softly before speaking up. "Ange? It's me Katie." She called, if it were the other way around, Katie wouldn't want to let anyone in unless it was one of her closest mates.
