Re: Things Are Gonna Get Weird
Brian managed a damp smile at the idea of any version of him crushing peasants. He remarked silently that she seemed quite lovely as Jack went on, but then Brian himself was accused of being unbearable. He squeezed Jack a bit more firmly, feeling that the embrace had been reciprocated, and he rested his chin on Nomad's shoulder as he listened patiently. A more sincere smile touched his flushed lips when his Venus-ruled brain filtered on the very real true love in Jack's revelation. Brian's hands shook, finally having lost the last bit of his iron nerve when the children were brought back into focus. The Brit mad his first audible contribution to the conversation in several minutes by way of choked laughter - "...and motherhood looked great on you." He moved to turn Cassidy around and looked him in the eyes after their brief (but precious) shared laugh.
"I'll help you." He vowed, without thought or consideration. His hands rested on Jack's shoulders and he squeezed once before repeating himself. "I'll help you - however I can. Perhaps that's why you've come here; to this universe - with Maria, with Faolan. Maybe you've all found something you need." There was Forge too, after all. The old Native had confided in Brian that Jack had seemed quite set on Forge being the linchpin in him finding his family. Brian wasn't sure exactly how, but where there was a will...
Brian was crying, suddenly, his lower lip jutting out against his will. "Are they as beautiful as I imagine they are?" His children.
