It was a good line - not a great line. But Nathaniel wasn't worried about that, he was more preoccupied with standing from the table and getting his hand to Eva's before she rescinded her invitation. Bookman managed to clear the table and reach Eva without any injury or accident - and slowed his momentum down to match her walk. Smooth and slow. Nate's longer, bony fingers immediately mingled with her soft, supple digits and Nathaniel grasped her hand tight enough to show her he didn't mean to let go.
"It's not an abduction if she wants to go," Nathaniel said of Persephone. With their hands clasped, they left the library side by side and what Nate assumed would be the garage. "In my interpretation, Hades likes to watch her do many things by herself," he said in hopes of building the tension between them even higher until the journey to her door became unbearable.
Nathaniel would have thought he'd be more nervous in this situation, and he was - even though his mind, spirit, and body told him this was what he and Eva wanted. But that didn't stop the excitement and anticipation from building up within him. When he discovered they were walking, Nate had to stifle a chuckle. "Shaping up to be a lovely night," he said at the prospect of the short walk to Eva's home. His head had moved within whisper distance to Eva's ear when he opened the mansion's exterior door for her to exit, "I do hope nobody else is home," he told her soft, bouncy hair.
