Re: Cantankerous | 7-28-2020 | Lunchtime
Jon smirked again at the cool teacher whose dry, cold reception had turned into a much more lively Giosetta. It was an energy Forge enjoyed from the surgeon, and one not everyone got to see. “If you want me to give you my number on a cocktail napkin, I’ll have to buy you a cocktail,” Forge offered sincerely. “Mexican it is, and how progressive,” Jon teased about paying the check.
“I promise not to judge,” Jon said, lying to the foodie. “But maybe I’ll find something on the menu a little spicy you’ll like,” he quickly realized the words were only half a challenge, and the other had an open flirt. Forge knew he needed to stay focused on Eva and what she’d gotten herself into. But Jo was just as he’d said, the right kind of odd. The kind he appreciated. “I better get out there and make sure they haven’t ruined all of Staten Island,” Forge added, to let Jo know he didn’t think was a pretentious hipster.
