Nathaniel chose not to stifle a chuckle when Troy compared the Irishman stalker to a hound but didn't allow Mr. Redshaw's reference to his son to break his concentration. How Nathaniel felt about Brayden's future mutant powers and the mutant detector's explanation of them was complicated. Luckily, the conversation shifted to who Nate really needed to be concerned with, apparently. "Anyway, I doubt I was given Mr. Silvercloud a reason to attempt my murder," Nathaniel added, with some conviction.
"Forgive me for asking, Troy," Nate started, his hands still clasped behind him. "How much investigation have you done into your spiritual connection with Eva and Mr. Proudstar?" Nate had been wondering since he first felt the other Native's presence in Eva's aura. "Do you remember when it started or maybe what the inciting incident was?" Nathaniel's hands were no longer clasped behind his back, they were busy in one of his boxes. Nathaniel produced a small crystal and a brass coin. He returned to the Native and placed the coin on Troy's shoulder, without explanation. "Are you right or left-handed?"
