Thor, the pensive king, sat on a golden chair and overlooked the majestic box he was supposedly destined for. It was an undoubtedly pretty casket built of precious metal and adorned with all the opulence befitting a king.
A thin cover of late evening clouds drifted by the chamber's large window, and the view held Thor's mind for a while. The approach of the first hooded attendant broke the king's concentration long enough for him to quietly thank the mages for their work. The women, known as witches in the past, were from a particularly powerful coven. Their loyalties had been to Queen Frigga for longer than Thor knew, and now they faithfully served his wife, the lovely Eva. Their care was essential to the ritual required to combine Thor with the power he was destined for. Not that he'd decided yet, but on Nate's recommendation, being prepared wasn't a terrible idea.

Lochlan entered the Murphy kitchen at a punctual half past eleven and was greeted by no one. Foreign as the family meal prep early was to Lochlan, with late morning/afternoon sun streaming through the above-the-sink window - it was pretty decent. However, he did hear the familiar sounds of a Murphy male eating just beyond the archway to the dining room. Factoring the weekday and time, Lochlan assumed it was either Morgan or Conlan. The older cousins (and Lorna) left the property for work, and Kellen always attended some school for the gifted and blessed. But Morgan rarely left the basement, and Conlan just rarely left. Perks of being an internet troll and semi-successful writer, he supposed.
Lochlan busied himself with a quick inspection of the pantry, though his mind was squarely on Gael's challenge. He'd thought of little else since she'd spoken it onto existence. It had excited the musician enough that even with the threat of two always-hungry cousins nearby and the near danger of any of the Murphys' habits of taking lunch at home, he still found his way down to the kitchen.
"Oh, Christ," Conlan said from the doorway, surprised to see the taller Murphy half in the pantry. "Sorry, I didn't hear you."
Lochlan nodded toward Conlan but didn't stop what he was doing. Phone in his hand, the Bard was deep in thought over which cereal was most suggestive to send to his sister. "I get that a lot." Lochlan didn't. He lumbered in was terrible.
"Up early?" Conlan asked and placed his empty plate into the sink.
"Yeah, I woke up so hungry. " Lochlan lied, he'd woken up incredibly horny.
"I get it," Conlan confirmed, then made his way over to the fridge. "Whole bunch of leftovers in there if you want something hot."
Lochlan appreciated Conlan's Vanna White moment and acknowledged that he probably was the best of them but quickly waved off the suggestion. "My stomach needs to be eased into warm food today." Begrudgingly, Lochlan chose a box of Lucky Charms, which was problematic, but the most suggestive cereal brand they had. He snapped a picture of the box, sent it, and added a few peach emojis.
"I don't think anyone buys all the Lucky Charms; I think Zap just makes it appear in our cupboard every week," Conlan said and made his passed Lochlan toward the living room beyond the kitchen.
Lochlan snorted at the thought and listened carefully to Conlan's footsteps — living room, then stairs. He smirked when the other man left the main floor of the home. In celebration, Lochlan decided to pour himself a bowl of very sugary breakfast.
