Her words echoed through his mind, but not the words themselves - Eva's lips against his own caused an awakening within Nathaniel's own psyche. "I've missed you too, but you haven't been gone that long," Nathaniel Zale, King of Helheim, explained to his wife with a gentle nuzzle from his cheek to her shoulder. "You were starving, but now you'll be recharged," Nate said to the Goddess of Motherhood, the Italian restaurant in Northchester faded into the background. The ethnic decor was replaced by the universe itself. Nathaniel cradled his wife's body for moment, nebulae and the stars were their new surroundings. "You've been asleep long enough, my queen," Nathaniel whispered into her ear, then laid soft kisses on her temple.
The outer most reaches of space transformed again, this time into Eva's very comfortable Asgardian bedroom. Nathaniel knelt next to Eva's bed, his hand just above her forehead and slightly tangled into her hair. "Welcome back," he said to her with a gentle smirk. Eva's deep sleep to renew her godly powers had finished and Nathaniel happily welcomed her back. While her slumber had only lasted about twenty-seven hours, Nate knew that Eva's mind had wandered for what probably felt like months. "Do you still need to ask Thor about me?" Nate said and his smirk only grew.
