Re: Force Majeure | 4-15-2020 | Afternoon
As Nathaniel suspected, Eva’s dormant magic abilities were ignited by the simplest nudge. Despite her hesitation, she (and Nate along with her) were transported to that tree. He’d felt the sun on his skin, the aroma of grapevines nearby... Nate was ecstatic, though his poker face remained strong. And then Eva balked.
“If you think that roll was chance, then we have more to discuss than I thought,” Nathaniel said and Eva attempted to excuse herself. “What? No. That’s the exact opposite of what you should be doing,” Nate said to the mayor, momentarily forgetful of their relative positions. “Do not tell me you, of all people, are afraid? No, that’s not it,” Nate said and his stare did not waver. “You don’t trust me,” he said and decided. “Fair. Smart, actually,” he commended her. “Very well, if I’ve at least piqued your interest... follow me,” Nate said and his eyes lingered. Not for effect, he simply enjoyed the sight of her. Odd.
