Re: Force Majeure | 4-15-2020 | Afternoon
Nathaniel could tell by the reaction his question had earned, he hadn't touched on a sensitive or classified subject. Clearly, Eva knew of her history, or at least her linage. That helped, despite the fact that Caltrops spent a moment looking foolish. "I suppose you could say that," he said and his back stiffened. "Never quite heard it put in those terms," he added as an afterthought. "I sensed a deep connection with the divine forces of the universe," Nathaniel stated quickly. "I smelled coconut," he added. "Hand lotion?" He asked though he didn't really need an answer. "You've never trained, though? Never realized you carry the gifts?" He guessed but assumed he'd read the situation correctly. "Why would you? Already an incredibly powerful cyberpath and electrokine," Nathaniel said in a list and was quickly lost in his thoughts. "Not to mention the intelligence and sightliness," he added while reaching for his gift and only briefly paused when he realized what he'd said out loud.
"This die," he produced the handcrafted wooden twenty-sided-piece and held it between the two of them. "No electronics, not a conductor, not magnetic..." he gently grabbed Eva's right hand and placed the die in her palm. "Just humor me. Close your eyes, focus on it," he said. With Eva's eyes closed, Nate's hand lingered and he fed her cells with the mystic energy they required. "Now tell me about the tree, where it stood, how it lived," Nathaniel dared her, knowing that supplied with just a spark her magic would easily transport her there.
