“Never once,” did Nathaniel regret talking back to his Eva - the punishments were worth it.
“I wasn’t giving my loyalty to the crown,” not the second time anyway. Eva knew where Nate’s true allegiances laid. When she stepped back he grimaced, because it was painful to him. Eva quickly healed his wounds however with her news. “He did wha-” Nathaniel started until a ring appeared in his mouth. Cheeky, literally. Nate used his tongue to snatch the piece of jewelry and presented it to Eva, still propped up by her second favorite tool of her destruction. But the wizard’s hand snatched the ring first and he eyed it. “If I still want to,” he mused with a smirk because the idea of him not was so ridiculous. “I think you know the answer,” he offered but then tossed the ring over his shoulder. “But not with that trinket,” Natnaniel told her. “I have something much better,” he teased. “I had Ran searching half the oceans for it,” he explained, did a muted wave of his hand, and then the ring in question appeared... under Eva’s right garter. The king’s fingers moved to her thigh, produced the ring, lingered, then offered the piece of jewelry to his queen. “It was one of heaven’s greatest pieces, until it fell. Fire could be seen rocketing through the sky and when it landed in the water, it disappeared for thousands of years,” he explained. “Why did it fall? Because the goddess who wore it lost her love and cast out the ring, never wanting to be reminded of her loss. And she never loved again... ” Nate’s hands moved to ensare Eva’s with his own. “Eva, I love you. You are my only. You are my one. Marry me, my last love... for enternity.”
