Re: Tabula Rasa
Zap's posture became less rigid as Thor dove into the line that had been blurred between sexual banter and honest feelings. They should have had a safe word. Yes, she'd asked him to 'tame' her... but how he interpreted the request was of his own choosing. She cleared her throat: "I don't think either of us understood our actual thoughts," the queen admitted.
She nodded after he said 'never' to an ultimatum, and her face filled with the same sadness and fear again at the very mention of it. She reached across the space between them that Thor had left and she touched his forearm once, then released it. "Those aren't selfish thoughts," she confirmed. "I said I would've married Nate, had things turned out differently - and that all depended on whether or not he ever decided to speak to me like a person," she smirked. "Let alone asked me." They had been, after all, two single parents with traveling careers. She didn't know now, but she felt if they'd been together, she would've agreed to become a family with him, in some other life or timeline. However...
"When I mentioned 'queen' to him, and it was I who mentioned it, he ran with it. He was excited. I can't blame him. It was a romantic idea at first. But the longer it went on, the more I wished I hadn't said it. I don't need that with him. We don't need that." Her face softened the most yet. "I'm prideful of you too," the Native switched gears. "Don't apologize for trying to rise to my level, though," she gave him a pitying look and patted his upper arm this time. Then a smirk came through, which turned into a grin. "I accept. I'm sorry for a few of the things I said, too. We have to communicate better in the future..." Because she was certain there was one now, at least.
