Re: Tabula Rasa (half-let)
Damn right he was alright, Brayden thought sarcastically, in his own snarky head voice. "I know exactly what you mean," about missing parts. "I feel like an IKEA version of myself," he added with a smirk then realized she might not understand the reference. "When I was in Iowa, I went to see an old friend who lived in town," Rayd explained but left out the geography, it wasn't important. "I remember this kid growing up and seeing him on summer trips through my late teens. Of course, I show up and he's twelve and I felt super creepy," he ended his story with a smirk.
"But yeah, I knew that," he explained, hoodie-clad arms on the table in front of him. "I remember going to her lab a few times with my dad, plus I think a field trip with Cyclops?" he supposed those were real memories. "I remember being impressed, plus it was in Avengers tower, which was totally cool," Rayd mentioned that last part as though she needed to be jealous, even though her dad was an actual Avenger and the rest had shown up for most of her birthdays.
"Anyway, IKEA is a Swedish-founded manufacturer of ready-to-assemble furniture that are frequently missing pieces," Brayden said with a grin toward Astrid.
