Snowbird
The magical barriers on the doors (which Mateo had acknowledged as a courtesy to his mother) disappeared and he exited his room almost immediately. He headed straight for Astrid's room, where he'd sensed Brayden much earlier, and he met Torben in the hallway. "C'mon," he said, unnecessarily to his little brother and they approached the door with no ceremony. Mateo went in first, then paused, then continued in after he felt Torben smack into his wide back.
"What?" Torben said, giving his face a small comical rub where he'd collided with his brother.
"I thought as much," the telepath said with a smirk, then completely disregarded the natural boundaries of the situation and jumped on the bed, making the lighter two (his sister and his BFF-and-semi-brother) pop up in the air as one. Because they were making out. All tangled up.
"Oh no," Torben said, brown eyes wide with immediate concern for what 'the adults' would say (or do). "Really?" Again, he couldn't say he hadn't sensed it coming. Something in his memories gave him a reason to believe these two had been flirting with temptation for months. He moved to sit in a chair. "The demon's dead?" he said, attempting to change the subject.
