Sirenic
The two of them were above ground and made quick work of the distance between themselves and the nursery. Torben and Astrid stood with their uncle Baldr, looking... perfect. They were perfect. The intricacies of her spell allowed her to remember their upbringings, but the first true sight of them as grown people was overwhelming.
"Mama," Astrid said first, then moved toward their mother with her arms outstretched. They were all aware of the situation at hand with the attacks on children, and even though they were technically grown, the comfort of her mother was something Astrid had needed in that moment.
Zap's arms wrapped around her youngest nearly twice and she squeezed the girl to her, then came Torben who sandwiched Astrid. Eva kissed her daughter's head (she smelled so beautiful), then pulled Torben's forehead to her lips, then released them both and turned to Mateo. "You too," she insisted, and he came to her for a hug that was just as therapeutic for him as it was for her.
Alright, now Baldr... "I cast a spell..."
"Where's dad?" Astrid asked.
"He went out to help catch this monster..." Zap's nostrils flared. She reached out to Thor with her mind, then, and when she sensed they'd let the trail go cold, she pulled him back to the palace, magically. "Baldr, please - go get Jimmy and Troy, I think I took them out in the process." She sent him the equivalent of magical coordinates and then waited for the two seconds it took for Thor to come into the room from where she'd ported him to.
