Re: Esteem.
Fuck. Oh, fuck. Of all the times Jimmy had been summoned to Troy's barn in the middle of the night, this was clearly the coolest. When David and Troy had their exchange, Warpath's face remained permanently smirked. That, however, didn't stop Jimmy from having a go at David. "What, is mine so obvious? Racist is what that is," he added but made sure to smile throughout. "Shit, we should have known," Warpath began. "Eva's wearin' her formal feathers," he teased, his rage momentarily paused. Once he was a god, the bastard who killed Julian didn't stand a mutha-fuckin' chance. "Okay... how do we do this?" Was there homework? Jimmy didn't do it.
Nathaniel didn't smile, only because he'd been trying to break the habit. The exchange between the three men was amusing, to say the least. Caltrops was especially eager to get this underway, two of these three new gods were going to be particularly useful to him... downstairs. "Troy's correct," surprisingly. "You were the first deemed worthy, David," Nathaniel confirmed even though Troy and Jimmy had pretty much punched their tickets when they supported Eva in the unsnapping. "I predict Troy will be a vengeful deity," he added with an almost smile. Without calling attention to it, Nate's fingers grabbed Eva's sleeve-clad hand and he gently urged her to take a small step backward with him.
"Alright," Thor said once he felt that the room conversation had come to a natural stopping point. "Each of you will seize the item from this chest which calls to you..." Thor explained.
"The wand chooses the wizard," Nate interjected... mostly for Troy.
"Yes," Thor agreed, his Harry Potter game being strong since Mateo started reading the books. "I can't say what awaits you," he warned. "As I've said, you've been deemed worthy by myself and your queen, but that doesn't mean the universe is through with you," he'd neglected to mention that some items had mystical barriers placed on them by their former owners, ala Nate's mask. No point in mentioning it, really. "If nobody has objections," Thor stated instead of asking, then slammed the top of the chest with his fist. "Who's first?"
Jimmy watched as Thor 'Fonz'd' the expensive looking treasure chest, eyes unblinking when light flooded from inside. The Allfather asked for volunteers and Jimmy stepped forward, because why not? He carefully walked toward the box, the light was too bright for him to see within - so the Apache simply reached his arm in. He searched blindly until he felt a handle? Or rod? Jimmy snatched the metal with his fist and produced a long spear from the container. He grabbed the weapon with both hands and instantly admired the craftsmanship. "It's beautiful..." he decided then tested the balance. "Perfect," he added then looked toward Eva. "But I don't feel any..." Different. There it was. Warpath's knees went weak and he swayed back and forth for a moment. The spear itself began to radiate heat and metal went from warm to lava hot in a moment. He refused to release the weapon even as his hands burned on contact. Jimmy snarled, baring his clenched teeth and grunted through the pain. But the searing heat disappeared as quickly as in began, with the pain shifting to his forearms. The sensation subsided quickly and Jimmy was left holding his spear and noticed a new spear shaped tattoo on each of his arms. "Bitchin'," the newly created God of the Hunt said toward the group with a long sigh of relief.
