Re: Esteem.
Sneaking. Something David excelled at but didn't necessarily do too often. Still, off the group went, into Thor's own barn. David nodded solemnly at Thor's explanation about the recent happenings - something that had shaken Auster to his core. The fear surrounding Julian's body... the smell of it on him. He had been alive when the monster had begun its meal... It was unsettling to the utmost power. Before the autumnal fellow dove too deeply into the choppy waters of his mental swimming pool, Thor said something that surprised him, and David looked from Thor to Nate, stopping at Zap briefly, then back to Thor as the other bearded man looked his way and made a joke about parties...
"Sorry?" Bestowals? Oh my. Tonight? He drew back some and began to worry a bit about what might happen in the next short time. Nate had recounted some of his own tales from the trial... But wait, would there even be trials? "We're worthy? Already?" In a pinch? David guessed. He cleared his throat but commanded himself not to speak again. It was really hard. He stood between Nate and Troy, but his focus was on Zap, who he was begging with his eyes to give him a nonverbal 'it's okay'. Oh, thank goodness, there it was. He smiled. Nope, too hard: "Troy, what will you be the god of?"
