Wow!
In some ways, Zap was still answering Frigga's voicemail. The mothers of Asgard would call out to Frigga in prayer, whether sincerely or in exasperation at their child(ren). Eva heard those calls. She felt them. There were prayers spoken to her now, of course, too. All hours of the day, women and children thought and said her name in a manner seeking peace and consolation or resolution. Magically, she did everything she could to soothe their woes and communicate simply and softly over the distance. She had no Frigga to teach her the ropes, how to approach certain subjects, or when to intervene in person... During the day, she'd figured out her own methods that seemed to have worked well, so far. But at night... there were nightmares and baby cries and teenagers screaming at their mothers in frustration... fights between young siblings... fathers questioning mothers, who turned to her in their emotional states, all seeking answers and help. On quiet nights, it was the loudest.
With Astrid at her breast, and Torben sleeping in the crib nearby, she put up her emotional barrier; a wall between her own children and feelings, and those of the women and children of her kingdom. Then, the queen went to work answering pleas and prayers and the questions she had answers for, the same way she did every night.
