Re: Hello, friend.
The folk duo was prophetic: Hello darkness, my old friend...
He was standing right in front of her. She saw it in his eyes, then. The God of Darkness had been swallowed up by it and spit back out and she'd missed the fact completely because she was so stuck in her own mind with her own concerns. "I'm not abandoning you; I wouldn't," she confirmed. Her hands squeezed Nate's. "You don't have to worry about it - that's the worst thing you could do." Worry about the impending end of all existence. She'd just fixed that, from a half-way standpoint, after all.
"I love us too." She took her hands from his, rose up and kissed his damp eyelids while her fingers ensnared his troubled ears. The queen gave them a gentle rub under all his wily black hair, and then lowered her lips to kiss Nate's. "I promise you, I can be there however you need me. All of us are here for you. I'm not going to abandon what we have... and what you've accomplished. I just can't..." Her eyes closed, having teared up as well. "...announce we're together publicly." Fuck. She felt sick to her stomach. Her hands fell from his ears to hold either side of Nate's neck and let her frustrated tears get their trip to her dress over with.
"I hate this. What the..." hell, "what've I done?"
