"Never apologize for having feelings," Loki half-scolded the woman in his arms, "and certainly don't deny them. You will end up like me." Her laugh had warmed his cheek. He'd tell it differently, but his long fingers on his left hand had stroked her just-let-down blonde locks gently as they held one another for a few, quiet moments.
But then his brain told him it was the socially acceptable time to retreat. His nostrils filled with the scent of her sweat, the wine on her breath, and the work she'd been doing. "There now," he drew back, feeling a little heady. "I've found you. But I seem to have put a dent in my reputation as a thoroughbred frost giant, so," Loki slowly stood and finally broke the connection of his hand on her arm. "If you could keep that quiet..." His eyebrow quirked up with teasing challenge. "I..." he breathed out a stuttered sigh, "we, rather, should probably get some rest." They would both be needed for important tasks in the next few days or more.
