Re: “I made it link by link, and yard by yard.”
Zap found nooks and crannies amongst the bends and curves of Thor's weary body, aligning herself as purposefully and thoroughly as possible (bump included). Once his arms were secured around her, she squeezed them even tighter still and nestled her head under his chin so that his beard sufficiently frazzled her hair.
"You are wise." No sarcasm, no 'buts', no teasing tone. Deep down, when he kinged with a clear head, Thor was so very fitting his titles and standing. Her hopes for the future had been voiced and solidified by Thor, as if he was speaking her thoughts out loud before she could form them. Her smile returned from much earlier at the mention of 'no accidents' - she loved his fate speak. She also loved that her husband hadn't said 'if' about Nate's trial. He'd said 'when he survives'. For the mood he was wallowing around in, he still projected his optimistic, confident outlook without question. She turned in his arms to face him properly. "I love you, Thor," the queen told her king.
"I don't want to think about anything else right now, just you." There was a sigh and a nip to his beard from her lips to lure his head down so she could kiss her husband and forget the (literal) hell storm they might've been preparing to face.
