Re: “I made it link by link, and yard by yard.”
Zap was on the same page - a chapter, really, because Thor kept explaining his love and longevity with Sif. Yes, she understood his dilemma. But after revealing that he loved another woman romantically, he had asked her to help him mend that woman's just-jilted heart. She was a little uneasy.
Alright. Now he was being more clear. Nate and Brayden... yes. Sif, probably not. But why? Guilt? Ugh. Her stomach. Eva rolled onto her side and did her best to keep Thor's face in her sights. "You're not a coward, you're stressed and worn thin," she pointed out, still doing some deep breathing.
"I'm not wounded; don't worry about that," mostly the truth, "but if you think there's no way to allow Sif in, don't stretch things out - they'll be harder to stitch back together," the ex-seamstress insisted. Then, Zap rolled back onto her back. Whew! "Just think about it all... please. Don't rush into anything and don't rush out of anything," friendships or otherwise.
Now seemed as good a time as any: "I told Nate I would be the queen of Helheim, too. I can retract..." Blink. "Just hold me for a while."
