Re: “I made it link by link, and yard by yard.”
That... could have gone better, Thor thought while he attempted to not topple any buildings over with his awkward handling of yet another situation. Odin's codpiece he was getting worse at this by the minute.
"We can't be together? We aren't together," he clarified. "We haven't been for decades," which Eva was aware of. "And no, this isn't because of Nate," Thor added and tried to reign in any contempt he had for even the idea of that.
Thor moved closer to the bed and sat next to Eva, but remained upright. "She was dead," he began, grimly. "I mourned her and the love we shared... then suddenly she returned," he recapped the very recent events, unnecessarily. "It was all so unexpected and it stirred centuries of feelings," he freely admitted. "Eva, we should have had this conversation sooner, but something in my head prevented me from breeching the subject with you," he told her and hoped to ease his pregnant wife's worries. "Nathaniel and his son have entered our family and I couldn't be happier," Thor idly gestured toward the mask and future they'd already begun to plan. "Despite my feelings for Sif, I don't believe her involvement with the most intimate parts of our marriage would be such a good fit," he explained his intuition the best way he could. "And I was a coward earlier when I didn't tell her as much," Thor realized and shook his head at his most recent failure. "I was too afraid to hurt someone I cared for and now I've wounded both of you."
