Re: “I wear the chain I forged in life,” replied the Ghost.
"No," Thor impolitely started to speak before Sif had even finished. His expression shown both mourning and frustration, "do not, not you," he implored a bit vaguely. "You are the one who knows me best," besides Heimdall, who Thor would not like to know what he thought of this conversation. "You do not ask forgiveness, you are the one who sends a righteous elbow into my ribs when I deserve it," a faint smile appeared and the Allfather hoped it was contagious in some small way.
"You know what will bring upset to our kingdom? This!" Thor absentmindedly grabbed the mask with his bare hand and showed Sif the relic. "Oh." He paused everything, including his breaths and awaited what could have been something terrible. When a moment passed and nothing in the room appeared to change, Thor allowed a sigh to escape his lungs.
"I am sorry, Sif. All I have are these truths and I cannot reconcile them," his frustration appeared again, this time with the mask in hand. "I love and care for you more than I can explain." Truth. "I also feel that way for Eva." Truth. "She has invited someone into our family who I have learned to care for as family..." Another truth, "which fills me with a certain amount of hope," the king admitted. "What I do know for certain is that you are not to treat me as a king or stranger. I am Thor and you are Sif, and we are family regardless of what the future holds."
